86 workers at Clerys Department Store in Dublin have been temporarily laid off, as the shop continues the process of reopening.

The store remains closed due to water damage sustained during a storm in July.

In a statement, the company said refurbishment is well under way, but that it would be at least another four weeks before the store reopens.

The company employs a total of 130 people.
