Further tests needed on body of baby found in CorkTuesday 30 July 2013 23.59
A post-mortem examination has been completed on the body of a newborn baby boy discovered at a house in the Friar's Walk area of Cork city yesterday afternoon.
However, it is understood that further tests are required and gardaí said the investigation is continuing.
It is understood that the baby's mother is continuing to receive treatment.
Gardaí said the investigation is being conducted in a sensitive manner, given the circumstances.
The post-mortem was carried out at Cork University Hospital.
