Two men have died in separate road crashes in counties Tipperary and Sligo.

A 22-year-old man was killed in Co Sligo after he was thrown from the tractor he was driving and then struck by a trailer it was towing.

The incident happened at around 6.20pm yesterday at Clogher, Monasteraden just off the Boyle to Gurteen road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to Sligo General Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Separately, a motorcyclist died in a road crash in Thurles.

A car and a motorcycle collided at Boulick, Gortnahoe at around 10pm last night resulting in the death of the man.

The body of the 34-year-old victim was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.

The female driver of the car was uninjured.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact Thurles Garda station on 0504-25100.
