A 45-year-old man who was critically injured in a shooting incident in Tallaght in Dublin in May has died in hospital.

Carl Wynne, from Russell Court in Tallaght, was outside a premises at St Dominic's Shopping Centre on 30 May when a motorbike with two men pulled up.

A gunman fired five or six shots at the victim.

Mr Wynne was found by gardaí responding to a 999 call.

He was taken to Tallaght Hospital, where it is understood he had been on a life-support machine.

Gardaí say a post-mortem examination will be carried out by the State Pathologist to establish the exact cause of death.

They have renewed their appeal for anyone with information to contact them.
