A sea search off the north Antrim coast, which was launched after unattended fishing rods were found on rocks at Portrush, has been called off.

Two fishing rods were discovered at the Blue Pool by a member of the public around 11am, raising fears an angler may have fallen in.

Items of clothing were also found at the scene.

The Portrush Coastguard Rescue Team, the RNLI Lifeboat from Portrush and the Irish Coastguard helicopter based at Sligo were all involved in an extensive search.

No-one has been reported missing.
