Government to review gaming lawsWednesday 10 July 2013 15.23
The Government is to review gaming laws following a Cabinet decision.
The move may pave the way for a change in the legislation governing casinos.
Casinos currently are only permitted to operate as members' clubs.
Minister for Justice Alan Shatter plans a period of public consultation before framing any legislation.
Government sources insist that any changes would not facilitate developments on the scale of the complex envisaged for Two-Mile Borris, Co Tipperary among whose promoters is Independent TD Michael Lowry.
