The Association of Higher Civil and Public Servants has voted to accept the Haddington Road Agreement.

The AHCPS said 64% voted in favour and 36% rejected it. The turnout was 76%.

The union, which represents senior civil servants, had previously rejected the Croke Park II proposals.

The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors has also voted overwhelmingly to accept the deal.

General Secretary John Redmond said 93% of members voted in favour of accepting the new pay proposals.
