Gardaí say progress is being made in their investigation

Gardaí are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl in Boyle, Co Roscommon, at the weekend.

It is believed the attack took place in a laneway off the town's main street between 1am and 3am on Sunday morning.

No arrests have been made, but gardaí say the investigation is continuing and progress is being made.

They have appealed to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area in the early hours of Sunday morning, or anyone who has any information, to come forward.
