Two men have died in separate road crashes in counties Kilkenny, and Donegal.

A motorcyclist, aged in his 40s, died in a collision with a lorry on the N25 Waterford to New Ross in Co Kilkenny road this afternoon.

The crash occurred at Davidstown, Glenmore at around 2.30pm.

The man’s body has been removed to Waterford Regional Hospital.

No one else was injured in the crash.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact Thomastown Garda Station on 056-7754150.

Elsewhere, a man in his 20s died following a two-car crash just outside Ballybofey in Co Donegal.

The crash happened on the Ballybofey to Glenfin road between 3am and 3.30am.

Two other men and a woman travelling with the victim were injured and taken to hospital.

A woman driving the second car was also taken to hospital.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Meanwhile, gardaí are investigating an incident on the M4 near Mullingar in which a man died.

Emergency services were called to the scene after a car was reported on fire.

The man's body was subsequently recovered and removed the the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar where a post mortem examination is due to be carried out.
