Five units of the Dublin Fire Brigade have attended the scene of a blaze at a former ESB generating station.

The emergency services were alerted to the fire at the unoccupied building on Pigeon House Road just before 3am.

Staff at an adjacent sewage plant had to be evacuated, but the fire was brought under control.
