A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a woman with special needs in Dublin last week.

He is being questioned at Kevin Street Garda Station and can be detained for up to 24 hours.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was with a member of her family on the South Circular Road last Wednesday when they became separated.

Detectives believe the victim was taken to a house in the area where the assault took place.
