Police in Northern Ireland say partially exploded component parts of a viable device have been recovered in Co Tyrone.

Residents in the Orritor Road area of Cookstown were evacuated this afternoon when the pipe bomb style device was discovered under a car.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland says a motive for the attack has yet to be established.

It is understood the owner of the vehicle had no connection with the security forces.
