Two men being questioned by gardaí about criminal damage at two premises in New Ross, Co Wexford have been released from custody.

They were being questioned after the offices of Government Chief Whip Paul Kehoe and solicitor Martin Lawlor - Fine Gael Director of Elections in Wexford - were damaged in suspected arson attacks.

Gardaí say a file on their investigation is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

They say a particular motive for the attacks has not been established.
