Four people have been arrested following a cash-in-transit robbery at the Orwell Shopping Centre, Templeogue yesterday.

Two men, one armed with what was described as a firearm, confronted a security worker as he was making a cash collection at around 4.15pm.

They escaped with a sum of money in a jeep which was found abandoned at the Spawell Car Park a short time later. There were no injuries or shots discharged.

In a follow-up operation last night, gardaí stopped a car in the Finglas area and arrested two men and two women ranging in ages from their 20s to early 30s.

They are currently detained at Terenure and Rathmines garda stations.
