Two people have been arrested after an armed robbery in Blanchardstown, Dublin.

The incident took place on the Main Street at around 11.40pm last night.

A man armed with a firearm entered a shop and threatened staff before escaping with a sum of money.

No shots were fired during the raid and no-one was injured.

In a follow-up search, a man, aged in his late teens, was arrested along with a sum of money.

The woman was arrested after a search of a house in Briarswood in Blanchardstown and an imitation firearm was recovered.

The two are being held at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
