A 44-year-old man from the Netherlands has been charged with dangerous driving causing death at a special sitting of Waterford District Court this evening.
The man was remanded in custody to appear before the District Court again next Tuesday.
A woman, 45, died in the crash on the N25 at Ballyduff West on the main Waterford-Dungarvan Road shortly after 11.30pm last night.
The woman had been a passenger in a car that was in collision with a van.
She was pronounced dead at Waterford Regional Hospital.
The driver of the car was also taken to hospital, while the van driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
