Staff at retailer Harvey Norman are working with gardaí to put a value on a haul of televisions, vacuum cleaners and other electrical equipment stolen in a raid on one of its stores in Cork overnight.

Equipment worth tens of thousands of euro is believed to have been taken in last night's raid at the store on the Kinsale Road.

It is the second raid on a Harvey Norman store in the city in the past six months.

An estimated €50,000 worth of equipment was taken in a similar raid at Little Island last October.

It is not known at this stage if the two raids are connected.

Last night's robbery is believed to have occurred between 11.30pm and 2.30am.

Gardaí at Togher are appealing to people who were in the Kinsale Road area at that time to contact them.
