Restrictions to water supplies by Dublin City Council have been extended.

They will be in effect from 7pm this evening and until 7am tomorrow.

The restrictions were introduced over the weekend because of problems at a water treatment plant in Roundwood and higher than normal demand due to cold weather conditions.

The council says it will review the situation tomorrow.

It thanked the public for continuing cooperation in conserving water.
