Stranded dolphin saved on Co Kerry beach

A stranded dolphin has been saved by volunteer RNLI crew and three local families in Fenit, Co Kerry.

The RNLI said the was running out of time after he was washed up into a deserted channel on a remote beach.

The Egan, Tobin and McCarthy families along with three RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew, made sure the dolphin was swiftly helped out in deep water.

The dolphin was wrapped up and transported by jeep to the harbour and placed on a inshore lifeboat.

The RNLI crew took the dolphin onboard the lifeboat and proceeded immediately out to sea.
