The body of a man has been found in a lane in Cork city.

Gardaí are not treating the death as suspicious.

The man, who was in his 50s and from the city, was found in Gas Works Lane by a passerby at around 8.15am.

The body was removed to Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination was carried out.
