Gardaí are investigating the circumstances of a shooting incident in Castlebar this evening.
The incident took place around 8.30pm when a man aged in his 30s was shot in a house in the Castlegrove area of Castlebar.
He was removed to Mayo General Hospital.
His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The scene is preserved pending a technical and forensic examination and Gardaí are appealing for information.
