The PSNI has revealed that a handgun has been discovered on a path near the scene of a bomb attack on security forces in Northern Ireland last weekend.
Police are investigating the attempted murder of three officers in Newtownabbey in north Belfast last Saturday.
Detectives are also examining the possibility that a call made from a phone box on the Antrim Road is linked to the bombing.
They have appealed to members of the public who may have information on the incident to contact them.
