A 62-year-old man has died in a house fire on Clare Island off the Mayo coast.
The man was alone in the house at Lecarrow when the fire broke out.
The alarm was raised at about 10.30pm last night.
Gardaí are not treating the fire as suspicious and say it appears to have started accidentally.
The man's body has been removed to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar for a post-mortem examination.
