An Irish national accused of stabbing Wexford man Kenny Meyler in Australia two weeks ago has been charged with murder at Perth Magistrates Court.

Mr Meyler, who was 21, died in hospital last Sunday, a week after being stabbed in the neck in the Scarborough suburb of Perth.

Vincent Martin Crowe, 32, who had been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, was remanded in custody on 11 February.

The decision to upgrade the charge to one of murder was made by detectives following the results of a post mortem on Mr Meyler's body.
