Two men have died in separate road crashes in counties Waterford and Galway.
One man died following a crash on the Tramore Ring Road in Waterford earlier today.
The man was one of two seriously injured in the head-on collision at around 5pm between a van and a car.
The man, a retired member of An Garda Síochána, had been living in Tramore.
The other man remains in a critical condition at Waterford Regional Hospital.
The cause of the crash is being investigated.
In a separate incident, a cyclist was killed after a crash in Co Galway.
The 61-year-old man died as a result of injuries sustained when his bike collided with a car at 5.45pm in Ballygar, on the Roscommon to Galway road. No one else was injured in the incident.
