A 26-year-old man has been charged with burglary at the home of an elderly woman in Tullamore, Co Offaly.
Richard McCann, with an address at Harbour View, Tullamore is charged with the burglary and with handling two sets of keys at St Brigid's Place on 11 February.
He also faces three charges of drug possession and one charge of having 282 Valium tables for sale or supply.
Garda Aidan Ryan told Tullamore District Court that Mr McCann made no reply when charged.
Mr McCann was granted bail on a number of conditions, including that he stay out of Co Offaly except for court appearances and reside at an address in Cavan town.
Mr McCann is not working and legal aid was assigned.
Judge Catherine Staines adjourned the case to 10 April for DPP directions.
