Two men have appeared before Ballyconnell District Court following a garda raid on a cannabis grow house in Co Cavan.
Hoang Minh Thong, 26 and Batiep Nguyen, 29, both of no fixed abode, but believed to be originally from Vietnam, were charged with cultivating cannabis plants to the value of €950,000 at Rahardrum, Virginia yesterday.
Supt Sean Farrell of Ballyconnell Garda Station said the State was seeking a remand in custody as there was an issue around the identity of the two accused.
Defending solicitor Joanne Kangley said she was not making an application for bail.
Judge Seán MacBride remanded both defendants in custody to appear before Virginia District Court this Friday.
