Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to fatal crash

A motorcyclist has been killed in a collision in Co Tipperary.

The man, who was in his 20s, died after his motorbike collided with a car on the N65 Portumna Road at the junction near Killeen on the outskirts of Borrisokane at around 12.30pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

The road was closed for a forensic examination but has since re-opened.
