The case against businessman Breifne O'Brien has been adjourned until 9 April at the Circuit Criminal Court.

Mr O'Brien, 51, of Monkstown in Dublin, who was present in court, faces a series of charges alleging the theft of sums totalling around €11m from five people between 2006 and 2008.

Further charges allege deception involving €1.9m.

The court heard the case is currently the subject of a judicial review, and that also some of the evidence was still being compiled by the prosecution.
