A teenage boy has been charged with robbing €76,600 from a Westmeath supermarket.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is the fourth person to be charged with the robbery at Tesco Express, Castlepollard on 14 March 2011.

He is also charged with possession of an imitation hand gun.

Three men have already been charged with the same two offences, and all three were remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court next Wednesday.

They are 38-year-old Edward Connors, of Castleraven, Nurney, Kildare and his nephews William Connors, aged 23, of Drumcairn Park, Tallaght and 25-year-old Larry Connors of The Courthouse Apartments, Rathcoole, Dublin.

Judge Seamus Hughes released the teenager on bail with conditions to appear before Mullingar District Court on 31 March.
