A man in his 40s has died following a road crash in Co Kildare last night.

The crash happened on the M4 eastbound near Broadford, Kinnegad, just before 10pm.

The sole occupant of the second car, a man in his 20s, was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown with injuries described as not life threatening.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses that may have been travelling on the M4 eastbound between the junctions for Enfield and Kinnegad at around 9.50pm last night.
