Hotel workers are continuing a sit-in after the business closed during the week in Athboy, Co Meath.

The doors of the Old Darnley Lodge were locked at 11pm on Wednesday night and a security company put in place.

Workers have remained inside on a shift basis since then.

They say they have not been told whether they still have jobs or whether they will be paid redundancy money.

Their wages are up to date, but some say they are owed back pay.

A number of weddings and other functions are booked to take place at the hotel and staff have not been told what to tell customers.

The receivers, McInerney Saunders, said they had no comment to make on the matter.
