A woman in her 70s has died following a road collision in Dublin.

The pedestrian was seriously injured when she was struck by a car on the North Road in Finglas at around 11.20am.

She was taken to the Mater Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The road was closed for a technical examination, but has since reopened.
