A motorcyclist has died following a collision on the M2 near Ashbourne in Co Meath.
The incident occurred at approximately 7.30pm on the northbound carriageway between the St Margarets and Ashbourne-Ratoath exits.
Gardaí closed the motorway in both directions following the incident to allow for a forensic examination of the scene.
Gardaí in Ashbourne have appealed for witnesses, or anyone who may have been on the road at the time, to contact them on 01 8010600.
