Gardaí are continuing to question three men as part of an investigation into an armed robbery in Dublin this morning.

Armed with an imitation firearm and knives, three men entered a retail premises on Tower Road, Clondalkin, at around 8am.

Gardaí say the suspects threatened staff before fleeing on foot with a quantity of cigarettes and cash.

Three men were apprehended and arrested by uniformed gardaí in the vicinity a short time later.

An imitation firearm, two knives, and all of the property taken was recovered.

A car believed to have been stolen earlier in the Lucan area was also located.

The men, who are all aged in their 20s, are currently detained at Clondalkin Garda Station.

There were no reported injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
