The death has occurred of Frankie Walsh, captain of the 1959 Waterford All-Ireland winning team and hurling legend.

Mr Walsh was the last Waterford man to lift the Liam McCarthy Cup.

The 76-year-old died in Waterford Regional Hospital after a short illness.
