Staff at St Mary's Pro-Cathedral in Dublin are collecting unwanted Christmas presents for distribution to homeless people.

People are being urged to donate any gifts they do not want, such as clothing, hats, scarves, toiletries and DVDs, by leaving them in the crib at the cathedral from now until 6 January.

Crosscare, the social care agency of the Dublin Diocese, will collect the presents and distribute them to homeless people in the group's residential projects.
