The sister of 13-year-old Erin Gallagher, who died by suicide in Co Donegal two months ago, has been found dead, and is also believed to have taken her own life.
Shannon Gallagher, 15, was a fourth-year student at the local Finn Valley College in Stranorlar.
Donegal VEC has said a critical incident team is in place there to support the students and staff at what it described as "an extremely difficult time for all concerned".
In a statement, CEO Shaun Purcell said their thoughts and prayers are with Shannon's family, school and community and he asked that the appropriate agencies are allowed the necessary time and space to support them.
The HSE has said all supports are being made available to the family. A local helpline has been established for parents from Donegal who have concerns about their children.
The number, 1850-400-911, is available from 12pm until 10pm daily.
The Samaritans is reminding people that there is help available for those struggling to cope. It urged people to look out for signs of distress in those they know and encouraged anyone affected by the news to contact them.
