Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery in which a shop manager was stopped by a group of men and forced to drive to his workplace.

The incident happened at the Fonthill Retail Park in Clondalkin, Dublin.

The man was stopped by a number of men as he was driving in the Oldbridge area of Lucan at around 10.20pm last night.

He was forced to drive to the shop and was then locked inside.

A quantity of money was stolen along with the manager’s car, which was later found burnt out in the retail park.

The man was not injured and managed to alert gardaí.

No arrests have been made.
