PSNI launch Investigation after Ballymurphy shooting

Police are investigating a shooting incident in west Belfast.

A 37-year-old man was approached by two men as he walked in the Downfine Walk area of Ballymurphy shortly before 6.30pm this evening. He was taken down a nearby alleyway and shot three times.

He was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to both calves and his left thigh. His injuries are not believed life-threatening.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
