PSNI detectives investigating dissident republican activity have arrested a 29-year-old man during searches in the Derrybeg area of Newry, Co Down.
The suspect was taken for questioning to Antrim Police Station, and a number of items were removed for examination.
Meanwhile, dissident republican prisoners aligned to the Cogús group have called off their dirty protest at Magheraberry Prison near Lisburn.
This means all prisoners linked to dissident groups in Magheraberry who were involved in a long running dispute have now ended their protest over strip searching and other grievances with the prison authorities.
David Black, the prison officer murdered by dissident republicans four weeks ago, was a warder in Magheraberry.
