A man is recovering in hospital after a shooting incident in Dublin overnight.

The 33-year-old was shot in the leg at Le Fanu Road, Ballyfermot, at around 12.10am.

He was taken by ambulance to St James’s Hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The scene of the shooting has been examined, and the road has since re-opened to traffic.
