Victims of road traffic accidents have been remembered at events across the country to mark a World Day of Remembrance.

Over 23,000 people have lost their lives on roads in the State since records began in 1959.

So far this year, 150 people have died in road collisions.

Brian Farrell from the Road Safety Authority has urged all road users to reflect on their own behaviour on the roads.
