Gardaí in Co Offaly have appealed for witnesses to a two-car collision outside Tullamore yesterday in which a 17-year-old boy was seriously injured.

It is understood one of the cars left the scene before emergency services arrived. 

The injured teenager was travelling in the other car with two teenage girls when the crash happened on the Portarlington Road at around 7.30pm.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Tullamore Garda Station on 057-9327600.
