Five men have been charged with a variety of road offences in connection with a "sulky race" which took place on one of the main roads in Co Cork last May.
The men were arrested this morning at various locations in and around Cork city and brought before Cork District Court.
James O'Brien, 28, from Innishaven Road, Fair Hill was charged with dangerous driving on the N20 near Blarney.
Patrick O'Brien, 25, from Bishopstown in Cork was charged with dangerous driving and wilful obstruction involving a horse drawn vehicle.
Christopher Roche, 41, from the halting site at Knocknaheeney faced charges of wilful obstruction and dangerous driving, while 46-year-old Daniel Stokes from the same halting site was charged with dangerous driving.
James Stokes, 18, from St Anthony's Park, Knocknaheeney faced charges which include dangerous driving and wilful obstruction.
All five, who are unemployed and applying for free legal aid, were remanded on bail on the condition they sign on with gardaí three times a week and do not engage in any form of sulky racing in a public place.
They are due back in court on Tuesday 27 November.
