Gardaí have advised anyone who used the services of prostitutes in Co Donegal to seek medical attention after it emerged that a prostitute working in Letterkenny is HIV postive.
Supt Vincent O'Brien issued the advice following the disclosure at a court sitting yesterday.
A transgender prostitute from Brazil and a male prostitute from Spain appeared at Glenties District Court following a garda raid on a suspected brothel in Letterkenny.
Solicitor Patsy Gallagher said his two clients were victims who had arrived in Ireland just four weeks ago and had been trafficked into prostitution.
