Police in Wales have arrested a man on suspicion of murdering an Irish woman who has been missing since last Friday.
Catherine Gowing, 37, was last seen by friends at around 8pm in the town of Mold, near New Brighton in Flintshire, where she had been living.
Detective Superintendent John Hanson of North Wales Police said the 46-year-old man who has been arrested frequents the New Brighton area and is known to Ms Gowing.
As part of the investigation, officers are trying to trace her car, a burgundy/purple Renault Clio with an Irish registration plate, 00 D 99970.
Anyone with information or who has seen the car is asked to contact North Wales Police or Crimestoppers in the UK.
Originally from Clonlee, Clareen near Birr in Co Offaly, Ms Gowing moved to Wales after qualifying as a vet.
She worked in Mold and lived in New Brighton for the past two years.
Ms Gowing's sister Emma and brother-in-law Shay have travelled to North Wales.
They said: "The family are devastated with the news and will try and come to terms with Catherine's disappearance. She is the light of our family and we can't imagine that light's gone."
