The LRC invited the parties to talks after unions threatened strike action

Talks at the Labour Relations Commission between unions, Aer Lingus and the Dublin Airport Authority have adjourned until 10.30am Tuesday.

The talks aim to resolve the dispute over a €700m deficit in a joint-pension pot.

Unions had threatened a series of work stoppages next week that would have affeced Dublin, Shannon and Cork Airports.

In response Aer Lingus and the DAA threatened court action, seeking to stop the action and hold the union responsible for any losses it caused.

Both sides accepted an invitation from the LRC to discuss the issue and the immediate threat of industrial action was lifted.
