A Co Carlow ploughman has come second in the World Championships in Croatia.

Eamon Tracey won silver over the weekend when he represented Ireland in the world event for the seventh time.

He came third in both the stubble and grassland competitions, winning second overall behind Scotland who took gold.

Jer Coakley, 24, from Rosscarberry, Co Cork was in ninth place.

It was his first time to represent Ireland in the championships and was named the Best Newcomer in Reversible Ploughing.
