Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has criticised the agenda of the upcoming Constitutional Convention.

Speaking on RTÉ's Today with Pat Kenny, Mr Martin said that it is ridiculous to suggest the issues of reducing the voting age and shortening the Presidential term should be the two priority issues.

Mr Martin said electoral reform should be the number one item for consideration.

He accused the Government of avoiding the central question of how Ireland governs itself and in particular the dominance of government over parliament.
